THERAPIST OF THE MONTH:
Erin Shank – Head and neck, deep tissue, sports
Before helping to start our team of massage therapists, Erin worked at our sister hotel, The Raleigh. From the beginning she has been an important part of the Standard Spa’s massage program. Erin’s skills as a therapist include, Swedish, neuromuscular therapy, connective tissue therapy, reflexology, and polarity therapy. She has had extended training in the field of sports massage and enjoys working with people who are recovering from injuries, or who simply need to strengthen smaller problem areas. Currently Erin is working towards her certification in craniosacral therapy.
Massimiliano Mantovani – Deep tissue, hot stone
Max’s journey into bodywork began in India in 1988 while living in an ashram. He has a unique passion for life, which is expressed through his massage techniques. Max approaches every session with the intention of making every guest’s experience rich and gratifying. Max is yet another talented therapist to come out of Educating Hands School of Massage. There he honed his skills in Swedish and deep tissue massage, later training in hot stone massage.
Jennifer Zwerin – Energy work, hot stone
As a massage therapist, Jennifer’s goal is to help others bring awareness back into their body. She is constantly learning, exploring and listening to the body of each client. Jennifer is deeply aware that human beings are complex and multifaceted, comprised of not only the physical but deeper spiritual, energetic and psychological components. Jennifer is a graduate of Educating Hands School of Massage. Her background includes Swedish, deep tissue, hot stone massage, craniosacral therapy, and Unified Healing Therapy. She plans to further her studies toward a more energetic approach to the body.
Klodi Lemoine – Shiatsu, Wudan, Tui Na
Klodi is our resident expert on Oriental style massage treatments. For lovers of Oriental Bodywork, Klodi offers Shiatsu, Tuina, and Wudan massage. He has been teaching Martial Arts for the past 37 years in addition to providing massage therapy. Klodi’s teaching and massage practice is based in the cultivation and flow of chi, or life force. He works with each guest to foster improvement of the body-mind-soul dynamic.
