Richard Hell, the poet turned punk God, will talk about his new memoir “I Dreamed I Was a Very Clean Tramp,” with journalist Katherine Lanpher. Hell, one of the first to spike his hair and wear torn, cut and drawn-on shirts, often held together with safety pins, is credited as the inspiration behind the Sex Pistols and is an iconic figure in the punk movement. From his "shallow roots" in Kentucky to his impulsive move to NYC in the late '60s to pursue the life of a poet, his new memoir follows his journey to ultimately becoming a punk God.

Of course there is Ultra Music Festival happening this weekend. But if you are looking for something a bit more low key...the Brooklyn based design duo Wade Kavanaugh & Stephen B. Nguyen are opening their newest show called "Drawn From The Everglades," a sensory-jarring depiction of South Florida's eco-system. Constructed from thousands of pieces of craft paper this rendition, inspired by a recent stay in the Everglades National Park, depicts an abstract version of gnarled mangroves, undulating sawgrass, and even some menacing storm clouds on the horizon.
