Summer in the City: Philly by King Britt

New York-Le Bain
Legendary producer and DJ King Britt shares his favorite records about summer in his native city of Philadelphia before he plays Le Bain on Friday, June 30th.
KING BRITT:

"Summertime" by DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince
This song embodies everything '80s and '90s in Philadelphia. The laid back beat, Kool and the Gang rhodes and synth, and the video! Instant Philly, no matter where you are in the world.

King Britt's "Transcend feat Bahamadia"
My goal was to create an alien experience in Philly with this tune. Bahamadia's storytelling took it next level. Midnight driving.

Pieces of a Dream's "Mt Airy Groove"
One of the greatest instrumentals of all time from one of the tightest jazz outfits. You can smell the BBQ when the needle drops. This is Philly to the nth degree.
Hall & Oates' "Method of Modern Love"
One of the most clever to drop from our blue-eyed soul brothers from Philly. A lesson not only in love, but quintessential Philly experimenting in pop music. Brilliant. Heads love this one.

On Friday, June 30th, Le Bain presents King Britt and DJ Said
