Restaurant Server
The Role
The Server is responsible for delivering exceptional food and beverage service to guests in the restaurant, bar, and event areas. This role combines strong product knowledge with a genuine enthusiasm for creating memorable guest experiences. The ideal candidate brings poise, personality, and precision to every table, ensuring each guest feels well cared for from start to finish.
Provide attentive, knowledgeable, and professional service in all dining areas.
Greet guests promptly, present menus, and guide them through food and beverage selections.
Accurately take and input orders into Micros POS, ensuring details are clear and complete.
Serve food and drinks according to The Standard’s service standards and sequence.
Maintain a thorough understanding of all menu items, ingredients, preparation methods, daily specials, and 86’d items.
Confidently describe menu offerings, wine pairings, and cocktails as trained.
Open and serve wine and bottled beverages with proper technique.
Handle all forms of payment accurately and in accordance with company procedures.
Maintain clean and organized wait stations, ensuring readiness at all times.
Complete assigned side work before, during, and after shifts according to SOPs.
Ensure all closing duties are properly executed, leaving the section and service areas guest-ready.
Communicate effectively with hosts, bartenders, runners, and kitchen staff to ensure smooth service flow.
Monitor guest satisfaction throughout service and resolve concerns with professionalism and care.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of hotel programming, events, and offerings to provide accurate information and recommendations.
Minimum 3 year of serving experience in a high-volume, full-service or resort environment (Miami Beach experience preferred).
Strong food, wine, and cocktail knowledge with a commitment to continuous learning.
Excellent communication and multitasking skills with a focus on guest satisfaction.
Ability to remain calm and composed in a fast-paced environment.
Team-oriented attitude with a collaborative and proactive approach to service.
Professional, polished appearance consistent with The Standard brand.
Languages: Fluent English required; Spanish preferred.
Must be 21 years of age or older to serve alcoholic beverages.
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (up to 8 hours per shift).
Frequent bending, reaching, and lifting up to 40 lbs.
Must be able to safely carry trays, glassware, and service items.
Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in variable temperatures.
