Position Summary
The Busser supports the Food & Beverage service team by maintaining clean and organized tables, service stations, and guest areas throughout service.
This role works closely with Servers, Runners, Bartenders, Barbacks, and other F&B team members to ensure tables are quickly cleared and reset, supplies remain stocked, and the overall operation runs smoothly and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Clear, clean, set, and reset tables according to established service and presentation standards.
- Maintain guest tables and surrounding dining areas throughout service.
- Keep service and wait stations clean, organized, and properly stocked.
- Replenish silverware, glassware, napkins, condiments, and other service supplies as needed.
- Assist Servers and other F&B team members with guest and operational needs throughout service.
- Remove used dishes, glassware, trash, and other items promptly from tables and service areas.
- Assist with restaurant and service-area setup and breakdown.
- Complete all assigned opening, running, and closing side work according to established SOPs.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of guest-facing and back-of-house F&B areas.
- Assist Barbacks and other support positions with side work when operational needs require.
- Communicate guest requests, spills, maintenance concerns, or service issues promptly to the appropriate team member or Manager.
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, safety, and responsible alcohol service requirements.
- Support teammates during high-volume periods to maintain smooth and efficient service.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by Food & Beverage Management.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Previous restaurant, hotel, or hospitality experience preferred but not required.
- Strong work ethic and willingness to work as part of a team.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced Food & Beverage environment.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Ability to follow established procedures, service standards, and direction.
- Warm, professional, and guest-focused demeanor.
- Commitment to cleanliness, sanitation, and workplace safety.
- Reliable and punctual with the ability to adhere to scheduled shifts.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English; additional languages are a plus.
- Flexible availability, including weekends, holidays, evenings, and peak business periods.
- Required food handling and responsible alcohol service certifications must be maintained according to applicable requirements; training access may be provided.
Work Environment
This position works throughout The Standard Spa, Miami Beach’s Food & Beverage outlets and may include both indoor and outdoor dining environments.
The role operates in a fast-paced environment and requires frequent movement between dining areas, service stations, kitchens, bars, and other F&B spaces.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk continuously for extended periods, including shifts of 8 hours or more.
- Frequent bending, reaching, kneeling, stretching, and repetitive movement.
- Ability to push, pull, move, carry, and lift up to 40 pounds.
- Ability to safely carry dishes, trays, glassware, linens, supplies, and other service items.
- Ability to grasp, turn, hold, and safely handle objects throughout the shift.
- Ability to work in indoor and outdoor environments with varying temperatures and weather conditions.
- Ability to safely navigate busy dining areas, kitchens, service stations, and potentially wet surfaces.
