About the Heritage Chairs
This year the chair became a cultural touchstone — a single seat can hold a thousand memories. From Bad Bunny’s album imagery of the iconic Monobloc chair, which sparked conversation all around the world for the diasporic community linking back memories of late-night gatherings in the home country with family members past and present.

Rumbá Bor’s stool has evoked the same kind of memories for me and children of the diasporic asian communities around the world, from family dinners at food courts to evening gatherings outside with your grandparents, the installation Heritage Chairs honours the intimacy of that memory: reimagining forms that keep history at their core.
