TheirStories: World AIDS Day Special with Marc Thompson + Luke Kelly

Intergenerational Conversations with London’s Queer Icons

TheirStories is a new series of LGBTQ+ cultural events hosted in the surroundings of The Library Lounge at The Standard, London, curated by Laurie Belgrave, founder of The Chateau. Focusing on intergenerational conversations with legendary figures from the UK's queer community, this month's edition is a World AIDS Day special, featuring HIV prevention campaigner and PrEPster co-founder, Marc Thompson. For this special event Marc will be interviewed by Luke Kelly, who recently shot into the public eye when he came out publicly as HIV positive on instagram live, amassing tens of thousands of views and praise from David Furnish, chair of the Elton John Aids Foundation. Join us in the Library Lounge for a rich intergenerational discussion on HIV/AIDS and how both medical treatment and societal attitudes have changed through time. We thank both Marc and Luke for openly sharing their personal HIV stories with us, as part of our World AIDS Day event.

This event is presented in partnership with The Love Tank, a not-for-profit community interest community (CIC) that promotes health + wellbeing of underserved communities through education, capacity building + research. Established in March 2018, The Love Tank developed from the work of PrEPster – a grass-roots community initiative that educates + agitates for PrEP access in England + beyond. PrEPster is now a project of The Love Tank.
