We're looking for you London!
Housed in the former Camden Town Hall Annex in London’s thriving King’s Cross neighbourhood, the 1974 Brutalist building has been meticulously restored and sets the perfect stage for The Standard’s first hotel outside America. The Standard, London has 266 rooms ranging from our snug Cosy Core rooms to terraced suites with outdoor bathtubs overlooking the dramatic St Pancras station.
On the ground floor, you'll find Double Standard, our street-facing bar and restaurant home of our legendary burger, Aperol Spritz slushy and our Bottomless Sunday Brunch. (Don't forget to book!) Next door is The Library Lounge, where our carefully curated library pays homage to the building’s original use, and, our Sounds Studio, home of our culture hub, Sometimes Radio. Isla offers an approachable seasonal menu, with a brand new wine and cocktail list. Our 10th-floor restaurant, Decimo, where Chef Peter Sanchez-Iglesias’ showcases his live-fire cooking surrounded by 360-degree views of London - only accessible by our iconic exterior red pill lift.
We are defined by our richness of personality and diversity of background and lifestyle so if you think you have what it takes to be a Director of Revenue at The Standard, London, we'd love to hear from you
As our Director of Revenue, you will work in partnership with our Managing Director, Senior Executive team and Corporate Revenue teams to oversee our Revenue function here in London. You will assume overall responsibility for creating and driving our Revenue strategy across the hotel; from the production of our detailed day by day budget annual plan to our weekly forecast for the business. You’ll review and set weekly and daily pricing strategies to ensure this aligns with our competitors and pace of demand, implementing yield management techniques to maximise sales and grow RGI. Over the longer term you will play a key role in defining our annual sales plan across all market segments in order to increase market share, average rate and RevPAR.
A key aspect of your role will be the management of our inventory across all our distribution channels, making sure that these are optimised and managed accordingly. You will also work closely with our Sales and Marketing Directors to develop packages and specials which engage and excite our guests by offering something a little bit different and that is anything but Standard! With the support of our Reservations Manager, you will manage a small team of Reservations Sales Agents, which you will be responsible for coaching and developing to ensure the overall revenue strategy are met and in line with the hotels’ wider sales objectives.
The production of statistics and reporting will naturally be pivotal to your role as you will provide both our ownership, corporate team and hotel leadership with a range of weekly and monthly reports to support wider business decisions. With 4 new hotel openings across the European Region [Ibiza, Lisbon, Dublin & Brussels] this role will support new openings and eventually develop into a regional remit over the coming years.
This is not a ‘Standard’ Director of Revenue position so you will need to have miles and miles of personality and stamina, be highly social, upbeat and friendly; confident and can handle pressure well; thrive in a high volume, high energy environment and able to work equally well both independently and as part of a team.
Do you have what it takes to be our Director of Revenue at The Standard
Here at The Standard, we take a slightly different approach and look far and wide for individuals that bring a unique perspective with them to our team (not a 5 page CV). We do not ask you to conform, read from a script or follow the rules (ok sometimes there are rules) but not when it comes down to you being able to express yourself or celebrate your individuality.
While we take every detail of design and guest experience seriously, we do not take ourselves too seriously. ‘Standard People’ are at the heart of our brand; vivid, dynamic and engaging. You’ll intrinsically understand the unique microcosm and the context of our venues and city you represent.
Prior experience as a Director of Revenue is essential; you will have however an uncompromised and natural flair for service and be able to build genuine relationships with guests that enable us to not only pre-empt needs but foresee desires. In addition to this you will also need….
