Since its opening in July 2019 The Standard, London has boldly propelled The Standard brand onto the international stage. The hotel playfully respects the building's history while creating new expansive spaces for the neighbourhood to play from our bars, terraces, restaurants, lounges and event spaces throughout the building.

Housed in the former Camden Town Hall Annex in London’s thriving King’s Cross neighbourhood, the 1974 Brutalist building has been meticulously restored and sets the perfect stage for The Standard’s first hotel outside America. The Standard, London has 266 rooms ranging from our snug Cosy Core rooms to terraced suites with outdoor bathtubs overlooking the dramatic St Pancras station. On the ground floor, you'll find Double Standard, our street-facing bar and restaurant home of our legendary burger, Aperol Spritz slushy and our Bottomless Sunday Brunch. (Don't forget to book!) Next door is The Library Lounge, where our carefully curated library pays homage to the building’s original use, and, our Sounds Studio, home of our virtual culture hub, Sometimes Radio. Our 10th-floor restaurant, Decimo is back, where Chef Peter Sanchez-Iglesias’ showcases his live-fire cooking surrounded by 360-degree views of London - only accessible by our iconic exterior red pill lift.

At the heart of our hotels are, of course, the people who through their vibrancy bring our properties to life. Following several months of closure, we are now preparing to reopen the Standard this May and are seeking an experienced and dynamic individual that will capture the essence of The Standard, London to join our team as our Corporate Sales Manager.

Your role

As our Corporate Sales Manager, you will work in partnership with our Director of Sales and Global sales teams to oversee our key Corporate market for the hotel. Initially your focus will be getting the hotel back up and running with a focus on UK domestic business along with any other corporate markets including Groups & Transient. As our first international property outside the USA, you will help develop the sales and business development strategy to target key corporate accounts travelling inbound to London [in addition to any local corporate accounts].

You will of course meet and entertain all of our key corporate VIP clients, partners and travel managers, through individual dinners, or larger fam-trips (once restrictions allow) which will allow you to showcase our property. As your clients will expect to be wowed [It’s The Standard after all] you will coordinate requests, itineraries, and services with other Heads of Departments to ensure delivery of exceptional guest service; that will not only delight your clients, but create the ultimate guest experience in London, that is anything but Standard!

The Covid19 pandemic has severely restricted international travel, however once it is safe and permitted your role will involve international travel in order to develop key corporate feeder markets; from within the UK and Europe. This may include roadshows, sales calls and international travel trade fairs to promote not only The Standard, London but also our wider group. This is not a ‘Standard’ Sales Manager job so you will need to have miles and miles of personality and stamina, be highly social, upbeat and friendly; confident and can handle pressure well; thrive in a high volume, high energy environment and able to work equally well both independently and as part of a team.

You will need to be a confident and proactive self-starter and are ideally seeking an individual with a number of years’ experience gained in a Corporate Sales role gained within the UK or International Hospitality industry. In addition to this you will also need…

  • Minimum of 5 years Sales experience ideally gained in a similar senior role in the Luxury, ‘Lifestyle’ or boutique hotel sector
  • Have prior experience of developing account leads, contracting accounts, RFP proposals and account management to increase production
  • Prior experience of working with the financial, pharma, legal, automotive, telecommunication industries.
  • Highly motivated and pro-active; acting with professionalism and positivity in all interactions
  • Sound decision making; the calm in the storm
  • Expert abilities in Opera, Delphi, Salesforce and Microsoft Office
