Los Angeles - Downtown LA Area Director, Marketing

      The Standard is actively looking for an experienced, bright, passionate, hardworking and clever Area Director, Marketing for The Standard, Downtown LA and The Standard, Hollywood. The role consists of managing the properties’ social media, partnerships, events & programming, local campaigns and being a liaison for all PR and photo shoot requests. The ideal candidate is energetic with a passion for culture, especially as it relates to the Downtown LA and West Hollywood community. This position reports directly to the General Manager on property, while working closely with the PR & marketing teams at our headquarters. Most importantly, this role must be passionate about The Standard and keep all efforts aligned with The Standard’s brand values.


      RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:


      1. PARTNERSHIPS/PROGRAMMING



      • Discover new & nurture existing relationships with partners in the neighborhood and oversee the local execution of large scale collaborations

      • Manage communication and promotion for key programming, e.g. Standard Talks

      • Support F&B department with programming execution

      • Field and analyze new events and partnership requests for initial review

      • Manage all special project needs including guest list management, event production and PR coordination


      2. SOCIAL MEDIA/PROMOTIONS/WEBSITE MAINTENANCE



      • Manage digital media presence and content: company website, third party sites

      • Oversee and execute all social media initiatives for the property including Facebook and Twitter. This includes: 1. setting ambitious growth and engagement goals 2. ensuring imagery and copy is representative of the hotel 3. manage all Facebook ad campaigns

      • Manage all promotional packages/campaigns including requesting creative, drafting the communication plan and sending a marketing recap after it’s been completed

      • Work with the Sales Directors to manage all digital marketing efforts, including PPC and other digital marketing ads


      3. PR/PHOTOSHOOT



      • Manage all Media/PR requests

      • Oversee all photo and film shoot requests and work with PR for approval and execution with the hotel. Work directly with the property to effectively execute the shoot and all its needs

      • Work directly with PR companies to ensure all daily property initiatives in terms of hotel and F&B operations are communicated in a timely manner


      4. COLLATERAL/ADMINISTRATIVE



      • Generate comprehensive recaps for key initiatives

      • Oversee and establish all trade agreements for the hotel

      • Oversee all hotel communication (flyers, signs, eblast etc.) – work in parallel with the in house design team, respective department and the corporate office

      • Manage Donation Requests



      REQUIREMENTS:



      • You love it! Marketing, social media, hospitality, and of course, culture (music, art, film, etc.) Passion is mandatory.

      • You're not afraid of the hustle. We are a small team, so for the most part, it's an all-hands-on-deck environment. Success at The Standard means rolling up your sleeves and embracing what comes your way with enthusiasm.

      • You're savvy with your resources.

      • You’re already well connected to the Los Angeles “scene” with focus on West Hollywood and Downtown LA.

      • You're a strong strategic thinker.

      • You are super organized and able to manage lots of projects at once while seamlessly handling inbound requests from colleagues and leaders.

      • Ideally you have at least 5+ years of experience in a similar position.

      • You never stop learning. Curiosity is a must.
