      Opening in July 2019, The Standard, London has boldly propelled The Standard brand onto the international stage. Situated on Euston Road across from the gothic grandeur of St Pancras Station, the hotel is set to become a new cultural crossroad for London and a gateway to Europe.The hotel playfully respects the building's history while creating new expansive spaces for the neighbourhood to play from our bars, restaurants, lounges and event spaces throughout the building.

      The Standard, London has 266 rooms in 42 unique styles ranging from Cosy Core rooms to terraced suites with outdoor bathtubs overlooking St Pancras station. The lobby lounge, with a carefully curated library pays homage to the building’s original use, with a Sounds studio hosting weekly live music and talks. Executive Chef Adam Rawson’s street facing bar, Double Standard, offers lunch, happy-hour and casual drinking and dining, while his garden restaurant, Isla, features a seasonally-driven, coastal inspired menu. Board the street level, exterior red lift directly to the 10th-floor to Decimo where Chef Peter Sanchez-Iglesias’ showcases his live fire cooking and the building’s 360-degree views of London.

      At the heart of our hotels are of course of people who through their vibrancy and energy bring our properties to life. We are now looking for an experienced and dynamic individual to join our team as an Event Manager.

      Your role

      As our Event Manager, you will become part of our small inhouse restaurant reservations team and will oversee the planning of all Event enquiries in our restaurants and event spaces. You’ll work closely with our Head of Event Sales and be one of our guests’ very first points of contact, responsible for handling a range of Event enquiries including bookings over the telephone, over email or via one of online restaurant booking partners. In addition to bookings in our restaurants and private dining areas, guests are also able to book our suites for exclusive private parties from dinners & cocktail parties to small fashion shows and press junkets.

      With overall responsibility for Planning our Events you will provide an important link between the reservations and operations teams; coordinating menu choices, dietary needs, table plans, event timings, entertainment and any AV requests to produce detailed Event sheets. You’ll also work closely with our Restaurant managers in order to plan, manage and forecast covers for any group bookings in the restaurants to ensure adequate staffing levels are maintained in order to deliver a seamless and effortless level of service.

      You will have a natural affinity for our unique brand and hospitality and will be able to connect instantly with our guests in order to understand and accurately capture requests, providing information on our Event spaces, Restaurants and Menu options which meet their event requirements; to create a unique event experience that is anything but Standard!

      Most importantly, you are a host and will be on-hand to meet and welcome guests on the day of their event, to deal with any last-minute changes and requests that may arise. Our brand oozes vibrancy and energy, is unconventional and bold, yet playful in everything we do; so, you will need to be highly social, upbeat and friendly; confident and can handle pressure well; thrive in a high volume, high energy environment and can manage both detailed administration tasks and guest with ease.

      Do you have what it takes to be an Event Manager at The Standard

      Prior experience as an Event Manager or Coordinator is essential for this role, your individuality however will be your most important asset. While we take every detail of design and guest experience seriously, we do not take ourselves too seriously. ‘Standard People’ are at the heart of our brand; vivid, dynamic and engaging and you too will add a touch of your own personality and theatre to our guest experience while at the Standard.

      In addition to this you will also need...

      • A background in Events with experience as an Event Manager, Event Planner or Coordinator with the ability to engage and connect with a wide range of guests from different backgrounds, ideally gained in a similar ‘Lifestyle’ Hotel or Restaurant sector

      • In addition to those with experience we are actively seeking candidates with a diverse range of lifestyle skills and welcome applications from those in the arts, music and entertainment industries.

      • Highly social, motivated and pro-active; acting with professionalism and positivity in all interactions

      • You will also need to be highly organised with great attention to detail, with a natural ability for sales

      • Prior experience using Opera, Seven Rooms, Delphi, Squirrel is advantageous however full training will be given

      • Fluency in English is essential for this role

      • You will need to have a flexible approach to working hours with the ability to work shifts, including occasional weekends to support any key events that may be happening in the hotel.
