Director of OSE (Bangkok Based)

Job Purpose

This position is responsible for sourcing and coordinating ordering of all guests facing OS&E. This includes OS&E for the Guest Rooms (including Suites, Penthouses and Villas), all F&B outlets, Public Spaces, Exterior, Events, Meeting Rooms, Spa and some BOH where applicable.  

The above requires the ability to translate a rendering or brief to OS&E that completes and compliments the design direction, not just literally, but making suggestions from unexpected local vendors and makers.

This position will need to be able to understand and coordinate operational requirements, budget, and design expectations of The Standard on existing and new developments in the APAC region. (Existing hotels = open hotels, new development = potential new deals and signed deals/projects in Design)


Duties and Responsibilities

·        Oversee the production of guest room OS&E brand standards produced in Asia

·        Full understanding of the brand, brand needs, brand and project vision, proposed F&B concepts

·        Calling in samples, gathering product information (minimum orders, lead times and wholesale pricing) for items under consideration and negotiating better pricing where possible

·        Oversee the design, prototype approval, contract and production of custom OS&E were deemed appropriate

·        Creating OSE Budgets for potential new deals and signed deals/projects in progress and controlling and overseeing the OSE budget throughout the project

·        Working with the project procurement team and their budget as outlined for the projects, including attending meetings

·        Working and coordinating with Standard Asia office, including attending progress meetings

·        Working with the hotel operations team on testing the durability and reliability of each item

·        Styling, photographing, and communicating with the corporate office for approval of each OS&E items

·        Collaborating with chefs and beverage directors on china and glassware to suit the menu and outlet

·        Maintaining shared full communicated with the team and project documentation files on The Box

·        Create look books for properties when project is completed

·        Building a list of local hospitality and design vendors in the region and curating relationships

·        Being flexible to work over different time zones for regular coordination

Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills

·        Ability to work both independently and within a team, in person and remotely

·        Must be able to change focus when needed while making regular progress on assigned projects

·        Highly organized, extreme attention to detail while multi-tasking

·        Fluency in English both verbally and written; excellent communication skills

·        Solution oriented positive attitude

·        Restaurant or hospitality experience needed

·        Open mind and willingness to study and learn the brand needs and vision

·        Out of the box thinking and searching for the unexpected

·        Min 5 years of experience
