Marketing Manager





As the Marketing Manager, you will be managing various aspects of on-property strategic marketing and programming, liaising with Sales, Rooms, Food & Beverage, and Events departments, handling creative promotions, partnerships, and managing all social media platforms.


$65,000 - $70,000 per year

·         Director of Sales, Executive Committee Members, all Department Managers, Assistants, and all other relevant departments


Hotel guests/visitors, Travel Managers, Meeting Planners, Media, Travel Industry, Trade associations, other hotel executives, vendors, owner’s representatives, corporate office personnel



Executive office and all areas of the hotel.




·         Physical:

o   Able to traverse spaces throughout the building as necessary

o   Able to work standing for a minimum of 10 hours a day

o   Periodical bending, kneeling, and stretching

o   Able to pull, push, carry and lift at least 50 pounds

o   Must be able to seize, grasp, turn and hold objects with hands

·         Understanding: Ability to read, comprehend and carry out instructions according to established procedures. Basic understanding of revenue management

·         Comprehension: Fluent in the English language

·         Organizational Skills: Work efficiently, utilize multi-tasking, prioritize tasks

·         Hygiene and Sanitation: Adherence to uniform, grooming and personal hygiene standards and expectations per Standard of Operating Procedures

·         Punctuality: Adherence to posted schedule and arrival time and attendance at mandatory meetings. Able to respond quickly and effectively to emails and phone calls

·         Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends

·         Responsibility: Personal comportment in line with Standard, New York policies, standards, and expectations

·         Able to maintain a high level of confidentiality

·         Can handle the pressure of a high volume, high energy venue

·         Strong communication (both written and oral) and management skills

·         Guest service-oriented, detail-oriented and hospitality-minded

·         Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Illustrator and Photoshop



·         Multi-lingual, travel-experience, comfortable entertaining clients, natural networker

·         Knowledge of Opera, CVENT, Delphi, and/or Hotelligence software

·         Understanding of Group RFP process and negotiations

·         Group inventory management

·         Knowledge of Event and Meeting Management

·         Contract negotiations





·         Discover new & nurture existing relationships with local partners that bring both culturally relevant and brand-aligned events and activations to the property that introduce the brand to new guests and create press value

·         Have a strong understanding and influence within the social and cultural scene in New York, East Village and beyond. Act as a cultural ambassador for the property to continue to create activations and partnerships that make The Standard a cultural hub and leader within the industry

·         Oversee the local execution of large-scale brand collaborations

·         Manage communication, promotion, and invite lists for key programming events

·         Support F&B department with programming events and execution

·         Field and analyze new events and partnership requests for initial review

·         Manage all special project needs including guest list management, event production and PR coordination



·         Manage digital media presence and content: company website, third party sites

·         Oversee and execute all social media initiatives for the property including Facebook. This includes: 1. daily posting 2. setting ambitious growth and engagement goals 3. ensuring imagery and copy is representative of the hotel

·         Manage Facebook ad campaigns with Corporate Director of Marketing

·         Update all Events + Specials on the hotel website on a regular basis.



·         Work with Sales and Revenue departments in order to create packages and promotions and design communications in order to ensure hotel meets revenue

·         Manage all promotional packages/campaigns including requesting creative, drafting the communication plan and sending a marketing recap after it’s been completed

·         Work with the Director of Sales and Corporate Director of Marketing to manage all digital marketing efforts, including PPC and other digital marketing ads

·         Support F&B and Events departments with promotion creation, execution and communications



·         Manage all hotel Media/PR requests

·         Oversee all photo and film shoot requests and work with PR for approval and execution with the hotel.  Work directly with the property to effectively execute the shoot and all its needs

·         Work directly with PR companies to ensure all daily property initiatives in terms of hotel and F&B operations are communicated in a timely manner

·         Scheduling photography for property events and updated stock photography



·         Oversee and be accountable for on-property programming, marketing and photo budgets

·         Work with corporate office to ensure inclusion of all major hotel activities on Culture and Instagram channels. Communicate and educate all corporate office initiatives to the property

·         Generate comprehensive recaps for key initiatives

·         Oversee and establish all trade agreements for the hotel

·         Oversee all hotel communication (flyers, signs, eblast etc.) – work in parallel with the in-house design team, respective department and the corporate office

·         Manage Donation Requests
