Your Go-to Resource for the New Weed Culture

It used to be that 4/20 was for stoners, hippies, and teenagers. But in the last few years, with many states moving towards some form of legalization, a new pot culture has sprung up.

Pot is in the press, in public, on TV, and all up in that arbiter of all things culturally relevant, Instagram. Marijuana is having its moment—a moment more widely shared than ever before. It's like 4/20 is a whole new, higher holiday.

But what if 4/20 could be about more than just getting high? What if it could be used to elevate the conversation about marijuana: as medicine, as commerce, as a lifestyle.

Last week, The Standard, Hollywood hosted Dank Tank, a discussion about how society and industries are evolving in light of the normalization of marijuana. To further explore the numerous issues that have sprung up in light of legalization, Intelligence and Paper Chase Press teamed up to create an zine, High Minded. Peter Lograsso, of Green Gold Baking Company, talked about the logistics of starting an edibles business. Marijuana trimmer and photojournalist, Linda Reno described life on the farm. Ellen Komp, Deputy Director of NORML, unpacked activism and reform.
