The Bowery Boys Win Division C
The third division play of The Standard, New York's annual hockey tournament, What The Puck?!, brought with it some hardcore action on Saturday. It wasn't the kind of hardcore action I'm used to, but you know, every now and then I like to switch it up and keep it fresh.
Saturday's game brought out Team X, The Hawerchuks, Miami Ice (with arguably the best uniforms we have seen thus far) and The Bowery Boys. Game 1 saw Team X go up against The Bowery Boys with The Boys taking the win 5-4. Game 2 pitted The Hawerchuks against the fluorescent Miami Ice men with the Chuks taking the game 13-5.
After two hours of a few tears, some sweat, countless beers, a broken window, some broken egos, one check and a missing puck, The Bowery Boys took the division and set their sights on the February 11th Championship.

The tension in the last exhibition hour didn't lack in any way...
André Balazs Taking On The Boys
As if out of thin air, none other than our very André Balazs came flying out onto the ice to show the boys how real men do it. Taking them each on one by one, he taught them what No Mercy really meant. Now they know how I feel! HA! Kidding!
There is only one more division play next Saturday, February 4th, from 11am - 2pm, and the final championship ending the tournament is on February 11th...same time, same place.
The Standard, New York is located at 848 Washington Street.
