A TED Talk About Why TED Talks Are Terrible

"This is not how we'll confront one of our most frightening problems. This IS one of our most frightening problems," laments Benjamin Bratton, Associate Professor of Visual Arts at the University of California, San Diego at a recent TEDx Talk, dittoed and amplified by Gawker. What's interesting is that Bratton's talk falls victim to the very shortcomings of the TED Talk ethos (over simplified, hallowed out, toothless) while simultaneously disproving his own point by potentially accomplishing exactly what a TED Talk shouldn't be able to accomplish ...
