      Job Overview:

      The Group Sales Manager will be directly responsible for selling hotel guestrooms, catering services, and event facilities through direct client contact to maximize total rooms revenues and profits. The focus will be cultivating relationships, building business, providing a stable and positive work environment for the team and to be self motivated in order to achieve budgeted goals.

      You'll do the following and more!

      • Establishes client base through direct outside and inside sales effort for the purpose of securing business for the hotel to ensure that predetermined sales expectations are met or exceeded. 

      • Develops and maintains relationships with key clients in order to produce group and/ or event business. 

      • Negotiates group guest room rates, meeting room rental, function space, and hotel services within approved booking guidelines. Confirms in writing to the client all requirements via sales contract. 

      • Must have a strong knowledge of the Downtown LA market.

      • Must have strong knowledge of Group Sales Market (including entertainment market).

      • Must have strong organizational and leadership skills. 

      • Must be a focused person who strives on a challenge and succeeds. 

      • Conducts tours of the hotel and event facilities; entertains qualified potential clients in accordance with company and property policies and procedures. 

      • Accurately forecasts all bookings and cancellations. 

      • Assists the Director of Sales with the implementation and achievement of the departmental goals. 

      • Attends and represents company at trade shows and industry events. 

      • Responds to guest requests in a timely and a friendly manner. Follows up to ensure guest satisfaction. 

      • Maintains a professional image at all times through appearance and dress.

      • Follows company policies and procedures and is able to effectively communicate them to subordinates. 

      • Note: Other duties as assigned by supervisor or management

      • Relationships: 

      • Internal:

      • Hotel departments: To communicate client expectations. 

      • Reservations: To confirm guestroom availability. 

      • National and Regional Sales: Share leads and account and client Information. 

      • External: To provide service. 

      • Travel Agencies: To promote hotel services and generate business. 

      • Competition:To stay informed of competitive strategies and business conditions. 

      • To promote hotel services and generate business.

      Job Requirements:

      • Extensive knowledge of the Downtown LA market

      • BA graduate. (preferred or relevant work experience in hospitality sales) 

      • 5 years experience in related sales

      • Fluency in English both verbally and non-verbally. 

      • Compute accurate mathematical calculations. 

      • Ability to: 

      • Perform job functions with attention to detail, speed and accuracy. 

      • Prioritize and organize. 

      • Sales/ negotiated abilities. 

      • Strong interpersonal and communication skills. 

      • Be a clear thinker, remaining calm and resolving problems using good judgement. 

      • Work cohesively with co-workers as part of team. 

      • Understand and maximize the utilization of Delphi, Opera & Microsoft Office 

      • Maintain confidentiality of guest information and pertinent hotel data.
