London - London Demi Chef

      Opening in July 2019, The Standard, London will boldly propel The Standard brand onto the international stage. Situated on Euston Road across from the gothic grandeur of St Pancras Station, the hotel is set to become a new cultural crossroad for London and a gateway to Europe. The hotel playfully respects the building's history while creating new expansive spaces for the neighbourhood to play from our bars, lounges and restaurants throughout the building to the 266 rooms and suites.

      Our Restaurants and Bars in New York, LA and Miami are legendary. In addition to the ground floor outlets the top floor of the Standard London will feature a stand-alone destination restaurant headed by award winning chef Peter Sanchez-Iglesias. Set to open in the Autumn of 2019; guests will arrive in ever-playful Standard Style as they board the iconic bright red exterior lift cab at the street level before being whisked directly to the top floor. The Restaurant features two separate bar areas, main restaurant which showcases live fire cooking and two semi private dining spaces and roof terraces with commanding 360-degree views of London.

      We are now seeking a team of diverse and dynamic individuals that will capture the very essence of the Standard London to join our team as a Demi Chef for the launch of this new London destination.

      Your role

      As a Demi Chef at The Standard you will become part of an exceptional pre-opening culinary and kitchen team that will provide an extensive food service across our new rooftop bars, restaurant and roof terraces. You will of course be passionate about cooking, with an exceptional working knowledge of kitchen operations and order of service; along with a deep appreciation of quality food production and cooking techniques so that you are able to support the senior kitchen team.

      Finally, your extensive knowledge of the latest food trends and London restaurant scene will help you create an environment where you will not only delight our guest, but also excite and surprise them to create the ultimate culinary experience in London, that is anything but Standard!

      Do you have what it takes to be a Demi Chef at The Standard, London

      While prior experience as a Demi Chef is always useful, your individuality is your most important asset. While we take every detail of design and guest experience seriously, we do not take ourselves too seriously. ‘Standard People’ are at the heart of our brand; vivid, dynamic and engaging and you too will add a touch of your own personality and theatre to our guest experience while at the Standard. With this in mind you will need to be upbeat and friendly; confident and can handle pressure well; thrive in a busy high volume, high energy environment and can manage multiple tasks with ease.       • Prior experience as a Commis Chef or Demi Chef, ideally gained in a similar ‘Lifestyle’ boutique hotel, destination fine dining restaurant or perhaps even a well know quality chain

      • Be a confident in Kitchen operations and the order of service

      • Highly social, motivated and pro-active; acting with professionalism and positivity in all interactions

      • Opening experience preferred

      • If you are a recent graduate then a relevant culinary qualification to a minimum of level 2 professional cookery and food hygiene certificate is required for these roles

      • You will need to have a flexible approach to working hours with the ability to work shifts, including weekends and nights as a number of our bars and restaurants will operate late night licences.
