      At the heart of our hotels are of course our people who through their vibrancy and energy bring our properties to life. We are now seeking a team of diverse and dynamic individuals that will capture the very essence of the Standard London to join our team as our Executive Pastry Chef.

      Your role

      As our Executive Pastry Chef at the Standard, London you will oversee and manage our pastry kitchen which will provide specialist patisserie support to all of our restaurants and bars; which include high-volume all-day dining, late night lounge, busy cocktail bar and grill, garden and roof terraces, plus our exclusive destination restaurant on our top floor.

      Working in partnership with our Executive Chefs for both our ground and top floor restaurants you will support menu and concept development of an indulgent range of Pastry; from delicate desserts and cakes to delicious viennoiserie items for breakfast. This is of course The Standard so naturally you will have the opportunity to showcase your team’s flair and creativity to provide the ultimate in guest experience with a touch of theatre, that is anything but Standard!!

      As a senior department manager, you will oversee many various aspects of kitchen management, from the daily production of food and quality control of products, stock control and food cost, food hygiene and HACCP, menu development and of course the recruitment, training & development of the Pastry team.

      Do you have what it takes to be our Executive Pastry Chef at The Standard

      While we take every detail of design and guest experience seriously, we do not take ourselves too seriously. ‘Standard People’ are at the heart of our brand; vivid, dynamic and engaging. You’ll intrinsically understand the unique microcosm and the context of our venues and city you represent.

      While prior experience in a similar role is always useful all are welcome at the Standard; you will have however an uncompromised and natural flair for service and be able to build genuine relationships with guests that enable us to not only preempt needs but foresee desires. In addition to this you will also need….

      • A proven track record in a similar Executive Pastry Chef or Head Pastry Chef role with the ability to inspire and motivate, with experience ideally gained in a similar ‘Lifestyle’, large multi-site restaurant/kitchen or boutique hotel sector
      • Highly motivated and pro-active; act with professionalism and positivity in all interactions
      • Ability to multi-task with excellent time management skills and a high level of attention to detail
      • Experience and proficiency across a range of kitchen management disciplines in a high volume, fast-paced kitchen 
      • Ability to develop and deliver effective training to maintain consistent service standards throughout your team
      • Opening experience preferred
