New York - High Line, NYC Wine Steward

      The Standard Grill at The Standard, High Line is looking for candidates to fill the position of Wine Steward. This is an entry level wine position, prior wine knowledge is desired although not necessary. This is a very physical job, lifting and moving multiple cases of wine will be the daily norm. This job is a great opportunity for anyone looking to become a Sommelier.

      • Has 3+ years of NYC restaurant/bar experience
      • Has open availability
      • Is reliable, upbeat and friendly
      • Can handle pressure well
      • Thrives in a high volume, high energy environment
      • Is highly organized and detail oriented


      Responsibilities include:

      • Restock all wines 
      • Keep floor stocked with Wine during service
      • Assist Sommelier in all aspects of wine service
      • Monthly inventory 
      • Cellar organization



      MUST-HAVE SKILLS:

      • Able to Stand for 5+ Hours
      • Ability to lift/carry/move 50+ lbs; ability to stand upright for extended periods of time
      • Ability to spend extended periods of time bending/twisting/reaching
      • Ability to read, write & speak fluent English
      • Willingness to learn and adapt
